Featuring Akmaral Kainazarova and Ensemble Topaz

Video Recording of Event

Pomegranate Garden: An Evening of Central Asian Dance and Music is a unique programme of traditional and contemporary music and dances of Central Asia, including those of Kazakh, Afghan, Persian and Tajik heritages. The evening features Akmaral Kainazarova, a distinguished and internationally celebrated dancer from Almaty, Kazakhstan, and artists of Toronto’s Ensemble Topaz, an integrated music and dance company which has performed at numerous events in Toronto, Ontario and abroad. The symbol of the pomegranate is widespread throughout art, poetry and music in Central Asian cultures, and Pomegranate Garden offers Toronto audiences a taste of some of the beauty of these cultures.
