Nayereh Tohidi (PhD) is a Professor and former Chair at the Department for Gender and Women’s Studies at California State University Northridge (CSUN). She is the author of numerous articles, and co-edited the books Globalization, Gender and Religion: The Politics of Women’s Rights in Catholic and Muslim Contexts (Palgrave MacMillan, 2001), and Women in Muslim Societies: Diversity within Unity (Lynne Rienner Pub, 1998).
