Please note: the second sessions in The Animals Among Us series, on Sunday May 4, will now be:

The Animals Among Us, Part 2 – Animals in Zoos: The Great Debate
Film Screening & Discussion: Zoo Revolution

Worldwide, zoos attract millions of visitors a year. Proponents of zoos argue that they are critically important in helping humans re-establish a connection with animals and the wilderness – without which, many animal species would continue to become extinct with little public awareness or reaction. Many animal-welfare advocates, however, argue passionately against zoos – on many grounds, including the harm of removing animals from their natural environments and lifestyles.  The recent situation at the Copehagen Zoo has revived the passionate debate.
Zoo Revolution visits both sides of this debate.

Date: Sunday May 4
Time: 3 pm
Location: Auditorium, Noor Cultural Centre
Admission: $5

The previously-advertised Animals in our Ecosystems with Dr. Reg Noble has been rescheduled for Sunday June 22.
