Reflections on the Christchurch Massacre
We remember, and grieve for, the lives lost and the communities violated in the recent mass shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand.
This event will situate recent acts of Islamophobic mass violence, such as those in Christchurch and Quebec, within the context of White supremacist settler colonialism. It will reflect on the connections between the foundational violence against Indigenous nations and other forms of racism – which have also led to Black Christian, Jewish, Sikh, and Hindu places of worship being targeted.
