Join us for the second annual Weekend of Twinning with Temple Emanu-El, part of a North America-wide initiative to bring Muslim and Jewish communities together. The theme of the Noor – Emanu-El twinning will be Face to Face: Discovering Our Selves in Our Others.

Forgiveness as an Engine of Peace

Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Gazan physician and proponent of peace between Palestinians and Israelis. On January 16 2009, he lost three of his daughters and a niece when Israeli tank shells shattered his house in the Jabala camp. Educated at Harvard (Masters in Public Health), Dr. Abuelaish currently serves as associate professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. He was a nominee for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize and the Sakharov Prize for the defence of human rights and freedoms.
