Marion Holmes Katz is Associate Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at the Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at New York University. Her main research interests are Islamic law, gender, and ritual. Besides her own books, she has published numerous articles in academic books and journals on various topics including aspects of women’s ritual practices, and abortion in medieval legal texts.
