Daughters of the Revolution is about Mehrangiz Kar, a practising lawyer in Iran, who pushed for reform in the area of civil liberties and womens’ rights in a post-revolution Iran. She has become an outspoken critic of the government, in the courtroom and through her writings.

About the Director
Aeyliya Husain directed the well-received documentary The World at 10 for CBC. Daughters of the Revolution, her second film, is about human rights lawyer Mehrangiz Kar, and was recently purchased by BBC. It won the Golden Sheaf award for POV documentary in 2008. Aeyliya has directed half-hour documentaries for TVO, BRAVO and W Network. As segment producer she has worked on series for both CBC and TVO. She has also worked on international co-productions in the UK and has directed in the Middle East. She has worked on series for Discovery International, History television and National Geographic International.
