Anti-Muslim Violence in Ontario: Examining Trends & Evaluating Responses

Presented by Dr. Barbara Perry, this seminar is based on a recent study examining the experiences of Muslim communities in Toronto and Ottawa. The aim is to provide insight into the extent and nature of hate crimes against Muslims as well as other forms of discrimination that shape this type of harassment and violence. It will end with an open discussion of how to best move forward in challenging Islamophobia in Ontario and how to enhance communication and relationships among and between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

Dr. Barbara Perry is a Professor and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
