Program
Screening | ‘Namibia Genocide and the Second Reich’ (BBC, 2005; 58 mins)
A hundred years ago, three quarters of the Herero people of the German colony of modern-day Namibia were killed, many in concentration camps. Today, the descendants of the survivors are seeking reparations from the German government. This film tells this oft-forgotten story, and its links to German racial theories that were also the basis for the subsequent Holocaust.
