Interfaith Solidarity: Bearing Witness to the Persecution of the Rohingya & the Uyghurs
This event – part of Toronto’s observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week – gathers people from across the faith spectrum in a universal calling: to bear witness to, and address, injustice.
This program will focus specifically on two devastating situations in progress – of the Uyghurs in China, and the Rohingya in Myanmar – two ethnic minority populations experiencing dire political and humanitarian crises. The purpose is to better educate us about the realities facing these peoples, and ways for us to help.
The program will comprise multimedia presentations about the histories and current situations, followed by a Q&A in which representatives of the respective advocacy organisations will be available to answer questions.
