Vocals
Performer: Farhana Khan is a voice instructor.
Classical Indian Dance
Tarana – a musical composition that uses syllables in a very fast rendition. The virtuosity of the composition is reflected by the dancer through complex footwork and captivating movements.
Thumri, Barse Badaria – a storytelling dance that is often romantic or devotional in nature.
Performer: Parul Gupta has been studying dance for over 20 years and is trained in the art form of Kathak, Baratha Natyam, Modern Dance and Urban Dance. Recently she has studied kathak under acclaimed artists like Sandhya Desai, Sudeshna Maulik, and Kumdini Lakhia. She is the founder and principal teacher of Infusion Dance Studios, based in Toronto and Montreal. Her choreographies have been included in the Cirque du Soleil productions of “Love“, “Kooza“, and “Totem“.
Odissi – a classical dance characterized especially by its use of independent movement of head, chest and pelvis, and the basic square stance that symbolizes Lord Jagannath.
Performer: Genevieve Beaulieu is an interpretive dancer from Quebec. She has studied Indian classical dance for over 10 years under acclaimed performers like Saveeta Sharma and Smt. Sujata Mohapatra. Genevieve has created her own style of dance inspired by various disciplines – rooted in Odissi, it draws upon a variety of other dance forms, creative movement practices, yoga, theatre, poetry and philosophy. Over the past decade, she has performed in numerous venues throughout Canada, the United States, and India.

Classical Indian & Fusion Music
Sitar
Performer: Anwar Kurshid is a classically trained musician from Pakistan. His music has influences ranging from Indian Classical to North American Blues, Chinese and Arabic. Anwar is the director of Sitar School of Toronto and performs in his collaboration series with world-renown musicians every month. He performs throughout Canada and South-East Asia.
Guitar
Performer: Paul Deslauriers has been performing music for over two decades as a singer and an acoustic and electric guitarist. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for his work, including several Lys Blues and Canadian Maple Blues Awards. He currently fronts the blues-rock group the Paul Deslauriers Band and was a founding member of the well-known 1990’s Black Cat Bone band. In his capacities as a solo and group artist, he performs throughout North America and Europe. Apart from performing, he also works as a musical director and producer.
Tabla
Performer: Karanjit Singh Minhas performs as both a solo artist and with others, including regularly with Anwar Kurshid. He has played internationally at high-profile venues like the AGO and The Inner Garden in Toronto, and the Hari Bhallav Festival in India. He has trained with acclaimed artists, most recently attending workshops with Ustad Zakir Hussain.
