Workshop | Islamic Geometric Art & Spirituality
The element of mysticism and spirituality in geometric art has been acknowledged by many ancient religious traditions – as evidenced by, for example, the mosaics in Islamic art, mandalas in Vedic Philosophy, the medicine wheel in many Indigenous traditions, and the architecture of ancient and contemporary churches and synagogues.
Drawing geometric patterns can be a tool for personal and spiritual growth; as well as a technique for meditation, mindfulness and contemplation.
In this workshop, you will:
-learn how Islamic geometric art can help you in your spiritual growth
-learn how to construct an attractive geometric pattern
-learn how to tessellate a pattern for a bigger composition
No skill or experience is required. All materials will be provided.
