Thabit Abdullah (PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at York University. He is the author of numerous articles and books, including recently, A Short History of Iraq: From 636 to the Present (Pearson Longman Books, 2011). He is a regular media commentator on Iraq and the Arab World, and is seen frequently on TVO’s The Agenda, CBC’s News World, and PBS’ Newshour.
