Mojtaba Mahdavi (PhD) is the ECMC Chair of Islamic Studies and an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Alberta. He is the author and editor of numerous works, including his most recently edited bookTowards the Dignity of Difference? Neither End of History nor Clash of Civilizations (Ashgate Publishing 2012).  Professor Mahdavi’s contributions have appeared in journals in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, where he has also given numerous lectures; and he is the recipient of several awards and grants.
