Noor Chair in Islamic Studies, 2012-2013:
Dr. Ramin Jahanbegloo
Noor is delighted to announce that York University has appointed Professor Ramin Jahanbegloo as the 2012-2013 Noor Chair in Islamic Studies.
Dr. Jahanbegloo is a renowned Iranian-Canadian philosopher. He is presently an Associate Professor of Political Science at York University and an advisory board member of PEN Canada. He is the recipient of the 2009 Peace Prize from the United Nations Association in Spain for his extensive academic works in promoting dialogue between cultures and his advocacy for non-violence. He is the author of 25 books in English, French, Spanish and Persian.
